What we store
Reviewed 31 October 2026. Written for wholepotato.com, about this one house on the hill. Not a template and not a copy.
All of it
Two values, sitting in local storage, written by this site and read by nothing at all. Not a single cookie is set by this site.
| Key | Written when | Value | Reason |
|---|---|---|---|
| wholepotato_age_ok | The age card is answered | yes | So the card is shown once on a device |
| wholepotato_consent | The storage shelf is answered | granted or denied | So the shelf stays answered and the signals follow it |
What runs first on every page
In the head of each page, ahead of everything, four denied signals are written: ad storage, ad user data, ad personalisation, analytics storage. That is where the page starts. Nothing is being corrected after the fact, because nothing has fired.
If a tag were ever added
Google Analytics 4 would leave _ga and _ga_CONTAINER on this domain, two years apiece. A conversion tag from Google Ads would leave _gcl_au behind for ninety days. Neither exists here now and neither would be written before Allow was chosen.
Changing your answer
What we store, in the footer of any page, brings the shelf back. Choosing to keep it off records denied and drops all four signals immediately.
Blocking it at your end
Any current browser can refuse storage for a single site. Refusing it here breaks nothing: you are simply asked about age on each visit, which is correct rather than broken.
What is not used
No social network pixel. No fingerprinting. No session recording. No font service is contacted at run time. The two faces ship with the site. No content delivery network. Open the network panel: every request on it is to this domain.
